The last time I tasted Jollof rice of the caliber made here was in a local spot in Lagos, Nigeria where it is made in iron pots and cooked with firewood. I don't know how they did it, but it beats every jollof rice I have had in the US so far. I ordered it with chicken for my birthday party and it was a hit. Everyone wanted to take some rice to go after the party. The chef is also the kindest and most personable individual you would ever meet. She added extra portions and a little something on the side to commemorate my birthday and helped me drop off the food too. She has a customer for life. Thank you for the top notch food and over-the-top service experience.

Ms. Aderonke was a wonderful hostess to us! I *thought* I had had a meat pie before coming here- NOPE!! Took a bite and immediately ordered 5 more to take back on the plane to Detroit. SOOOO fresh, that dough. And you must try the spicy chin chin when you come- don't be cute and get the small container- get that biggun!!

I had the most phenomenal dining experience at Kings Pride, a Nigerian restaurant in Jersey City. The exceptional customer service by the owner, Veronica, truly made it stand out. Veronica went above and beyond to bring the essence of Nigerian cuisine to our table, even taking us behind the scenes to demonstrate the traditional preparation of the dishes. Her passion for sharing the culture and flavors of Nigeria was truly inspiring. The Jollof rice with stewed goat was an absolute standout, bursting with rich, aromatic flavors that left a lasting impression. The Ogbono soup was a true staple of Nigerian cuisine and paired perfectly with a side of fufu. The classic homemade Zobo drink was a refreshing and delightful complement to the meal. Veronica's warm hospitality and her dedication to showcasing the authenticity and rich cultural heritage of Nigerian cuisine made our experience truly memorable. Kings Pride is more than just a restaurant; it's a place that brings people together through the love for great food and the celebration of Nigerian traditions. I highly recommend Kings Pride as a must-visit for anyone seeking an authentic and enriching culinary experience. Veronica's commitment to preserving and sharing the intricacies of Nigerian cuisine deserves the utmost support to keep this remarkable restaurant thriving.

I was in NJ with a group of friends for my birthday and stumbled across this absolute gem. From the moment we walked in, the experience was great. Ms. Aderonke, the owner, had a contractor there preparing to do some work asking her all sorts of questions and such and she still somehow managed to make us feel like we were all VIP guests. The food was absolutely incredible and she even gave me a birthday gift in the form of what was probably THE best meat pie I've ever had. Made my day. :)

Let me start off my saying I enjoyed my experience at Kings Pride Food..Soon as I walked in I was greeted by Ms. Aderonke and she was so pleasant. As I ordered my food and waited for my food we engaged in a nice conversation. She is such a nice person with an amazing personality. The food was definitely some of the best African food that I have ever had and most certainly will be dining at Kings Pride food again very soon! 10/10!!

Absolutely amazing. At first I was wondering why it was a little bit overpriced but the portions are absolutely amazing. A medium looks like an extra large?! The woman who worked there was so sweet to me. She didn’t take long at all and was just happy to be there. Food was excellent , very spicy but enjoyable. Chicken was awesome. Beef was a bit chewy so I didn’t eat it but, it was a lovely place I will definitely be going back.
